Building confidence, discipline, and belonging — the Highland way.
The Crest of Courage Path is our Academy’s structured, multi-level training system that guides dancers from their very first steps to advanced mastery and leadership.
Each stage blends Highland technique with character development, helping dancers grow stronger in courage, discipline, kindness, respect, and pride.
Progress is earned, celebrated at our Crest Rising Ceremonies, and marked with a color-coded tartan band unique to each level.
No comparison. No rush. Just consistent growth — inside and out.

Ages 5+ • 4-Week Intro • 1 Class/Week
Confidence Camp is where the journey begins. Young dancers learn posture, rhythm, and the joy of trying hard things in a warm, encouraging environment. It’s courage in its simplest form — showing up, focusing, and discovering what they can do. This first step lays the foundation for the Crest of Courage Path and helps every child feel proud of their effort from day one.

With 1 class each week, dancers build the focus, consistency, and core Highland technique that anchors their entire journey. This is the moment they earn their first Royal Blue Crest Band and officially step onto the Crest of Courage Path. Here, effort becomes responsibility — and discipline starts to feel like confidence in motion.

With 2 classes each week, dancers refine technique, learn longer combinations, and build real endurance and artistry. This is where showing up consistently becomes a source of pride — and where teamwork starts to matter as much as skill. Earning the Royal Purple Crest reflects perseverance and commitment on the Crest of Courage Path.

Elite Advanced dancers sharpen artistry, endurance, and technical precision through 2+ classes each week. At this level, skill evolves into leadership as dancers become visible role models for younger students. They train with intention, carry Highland heritage with pride, and learn to lead through humility and wisdom. Earning the Burgundy Crest marks a pivotal stage on the Crest of Courage Path — where progress becomes purpose.

The Masters Circle is where elite technique meets unwavering character. Premier-level dancers earn their Emerald Crest by showing mastery, maturity, and a deep understanding of Highland artistry. They assist younger classes, mentor peers, and represent the Academy with integrity and kindness — the true marks of leadership. This level isn’t just about performing well; it’s about embodying the Highland Way and lifting the entire community through example.

The Legacy Guild is where mastery becomes mentorship. Reserved for graduates, alumni, and dancers who continue as teachers, leaders, or performers, this level carries the deep responsibility of passing Highland tradition forward. Members uphold service, heritage, and lifelong connection — the highest expression of the Highland Way. Earning the Black Crest marks not just skill, but character: the commitment to lift the next generation and keep the art alive.
Twice a year — in January and June — our dancers step into a moment they’ve earned. The Crest Rising Ceremony marks their progression along the Crest of Courage Path, honoring the confidence, discipline, and belonging they’ve built through consistent effort. Each new Crest color is a symbol of courage earned, not given. Families gather, dancers stand tall, and the room shifts as they realize: I did this. It’s a powerful tradition rooted in Scottish heritage and the Highland Way — a celebration of growth that your child will remember long after the applause fades.
Positive Moo embodies the Highland Way — Building Confidence, Discipline, and Belonging. This sturdy Scottish cow reminds our dancers to “Keep Moo-ving Forward,” no matter the challenge. For kids, Positive Moo makes bravery feel fun. For parents, it represents resilience, earned confidence, and the steady discipline we build in every class. Each time dancers see the Highland Cow, they’re reminded that courage grows through effort… and every small win counts.

The Crest Path begins with our 4-week Confidence Camp: Path of the Brave.
